Screenshots Please

Hello there,

First of all a brief progress report.

0.9.10.5  is nearing completion, vampire and karma game modes are already complete. The new vampire utility weapon is complete. Some bug fixes are done and we're well on track, you'll also find a fun new feature in this release that I haven't revealed yet.

Expect this soon. Then we'll begin our next tournament. 2v2 so you'd better begin finding partners!



Do you have any other interesting ideas for game modifiers?



Second,  I think it's about time I updated the media page.
If anyone would like to post screenshots from 0.9.10, or even better.. make a trailer or video, I'll pick the best ones and put them up on the site for all to see.

So if you fancy yourself as a virtual photographer, get snapping and lets see what you can do

that seems to be a lot of trouble for little gain - why don't you just use gtk-RecordMyDesktop ?

When anyone play modify schemes of hegewars in the lobby
i think we must have a information box or litlle icons for every sheme that can show us in the server list in the lobby what the host will or actually play !

i play nothing of this shemes and i will only find classic matches.

Preview was on the list for 0.9.10, but would have pushed release even further back.

In the mean time you can, oh, just ask the people before the game starts Smile

Heck. That was always an issue with weapons in the past.

Idea for a new game mode, CTF! Could use mirrored random maps, or mirrored standard maps? Perhaps new maps too..

I think the way teams are kind of suck to, your team gets one turn then its the other teams. Maybe a modifier for teammates to all take there turn in sequence..

it would be great if you could implement random time for mines, or choose the time ie, 0,1,2,3, or random(0-3) seconds

How about an armageddon game mode, where after each round of turns a few meteorites fall from the sky and may hit some hedgehogs.
Or I believe there may have been one in worms where there was an earthquake after each turn.

I can't find any good screen capture programs, all but fraps have lag, but fraps gives you only about 30 seconds...

What software do you use Tiyuri?

Dunno about Tiyuri but I use CamStudio. Although most people think it's cr*p, you can get quite a decent quality with the right configuration. btw Record in windowed mode. I presume that your screen resolution isn't 640x480 or less. So the greater the resolution is, the more cr*ppy quality you'll get. So stick to a windowed mode.
You can also use GameCam (is this the correct name?) but as far as I remember it adds the program's logo in the video in one of the corners at the bottom so you'll have to additionally remove it, which is...Well, not cool Smile

About the game modifiers - you can add some sort of an option to randomize all the game parameters not only the map. So that every time you want to play random you'll get total randomness Smile

PS: Have you guys removed the artillery mode? 'Cause I can't see it on the screenshot.

here's an idea: how about implementing dummy mines - i. e. the ones that do not do "bo-o-o-om" when passed by. of course dummies are only a few ones and being on the map since game start, it certainly won't be very good as a weapon. jose

Idea for game modifier: Anchored hedgehogs.
Gameplay will be like artillery mode.

Here's an idea for a modifier. If any 2+ hedgehogs come into contact with each other they all suffer damage or are blown separate ways.

The trailer is about halfway done, if all goes well I'll have it by Friday

nice would be little gaspumps which explode by hitting (like the barrels in worms)
pretty would be adjustable time of mine-explosion
But the nicest would be if the usermaps would be downloaded from game automaticly (with p2p) (in Worms that was possible)

configurable weight/gravity would be cool as well Big Grin
