portal 2 is going to be amazing

My friends and I played the latest svn snapshot a couple weeks ago. The portal makes a pretty effective 100hp weapon in large caverns where you can shoot the top of the map and then under an opponent hog.

Since we were trying out shoppa with unlimited portals it really detracted from the need to go after crates after it was discovered.

Yeah, unlimited portal games need to be severely restricted.

The one that I've been dragging people into, I set artillery mode, add a few more mines and barrels (for dropping on people) and kick the crates up to 2 turns.

I then restrict weapon set to unlimited portals, unlimited grenades, 2 girders (for firing portals onto), a teleport, an extra time, a couple of deagles and a few laser sights.

just put both folders into a installationfolder of 0.9.13 (for example: D:\Programs\Hedgewars 0.9.13) and start the Hedgehogs.exe in the Bin-folder

What about adding 'jelly' visual effect? So hedges/objects, which are very fast-moving/jumping/hitting a wall 'squash' and deform(and a little bit when they are standing still to give feeling that they 'breathe'). I think it would really help players to feel that they are 'organic'. Also little (almost unnoticeable, and by no means ever leading to death) interia when moving could be neat.
And perhaps as I once suggested on the forum - make shotgun shot like 5-7 small, quite strongly spread bullets, that do little damage each, but very much when they all hit(small chance for that because of spread)

I would love the hedgehogs to look a little more organic to but is the engine capable? or would it need a significant rewrite? I have a feeling it would. If you ever do rewrite the engine, you could intergrate a more advanced 2D open physics engine as well. That would be good. Maye for the big 1.0 release.

well yes, I suppose intergrating bullet would be serious OVERKILL but I do think it needs to feel more polished and realistic when moving and jumping. Right now all this seems a bit clunky. Let's just take it one step at a time though.

First there could be more cntrol over how you jump and a better animation. For example holding down backspace or enter should result in varying degrees of distance. Then again, some people might say that this detracts from the main gameplay aspects.

Ok when will this come out? I want to use the new guns lol.
