Hi,

Reading the previous topics "Achievements" and "Visual cues/promotion...", it comes to my mind a gamemode that, as far as i know, can be scripted. I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.

Ok.

My proposal is a mode (it can be a switch on game mode config) where per certain "round achievements" like "killing 3 hogs" or "hitting far away", or "defeating a team's last hog", gives the hog that made the achievement some kind of special habilities, ie "more weapons", or "vampirism" or "extra time" or "extra health" or "extra damage" ... whatever, this may last until the next turn.

Another way to see this is like "experience" for hogs. Like when playing an strategy game, your units get better when they gain experience that makes them stronger.

While writing, it comes to my mind an example of simple implementation of this that can be cool:
Por each hog killed you get +x1.1 damage, and this can be seen as a visual cue that everyone can see, for example with war ranks icons (soldier, liutenant etc...) or even just a number over the hog or something. Or maybe that upgrade lasts only during current turn.

In my opinion, that kind of game strategy is what made Highlander beat normal games. Philosophy is the same, improving your hogs while playing.
Maybe this kind of mode improves the game on not "highlander" modes, like normal or even shoppa.

thanks,
