Some suggestions + feedback

Hi guys.

We love this game. A lot. We're a bunch of programmers and our office stops working at lunch time every day to play this game. We really need to brush up on some LUA to contribute.

As for some suggestions:

- The ability to edit game styles (for instance highlander is amazing but it would be cool to drop in extra weapons like the elastic bounce bridge. All we ever play is highlander and I only found out about this weapon recently).

- Have the ability to remove the team/hog names above a hog. Sometimes it's difficult to see what's happening in close-quarters.

Yes, we're working on things like that already!

Check out Highlander-Remix from the official DLC, it's customizable Highlander, so you can add Rubberband to the available weapons/utilities!

(just click the "downloadable content" button in main menu, then find and click highlander-remix in the list and restart Hedgewars).

The final version of that gamemode script will probably be included in the next release!

(nemo is the wizard behind Highlander-Remix btw.)

That is already possible! Press precise+tag keys (default keybind: leftSHIFT + DEL ) to toggle the tags and their transparency.

If you want Hedgewars to set some particular tag visibility settings on every game start -> go to the main settings of the game -> graphics section.
There you can disable/enable the various tags (on the bottom left of the graphics settings screen)

Exactly what I wanted to suggest too! That would be great (you know, I love barrels Smile But also setting the Rope to unlimited or elongerating game time till sudden death would be awesome there and there). So @Sheepluva looking forward to it!

Cri, you can try it right now. The script on DLC is .20 compatible, and could use testing anyway.
The first tab of the weapon set (weapon count) instead controls weapon probability.
1-8 controls how likely it is for a hog to get a particular weapon or utility.
Infinite assigns the weapon to all hogs (like kamikaze in standard).

TimeBox cannot be used in any matches. Actually, switch might be buggy too, but hopefully not.

Ah how blind of me. Don't know how I missed it in the menu. Thanks for all the tips. I've played around with the LUA game mode files. It's very similar to Ruby so creating a custom game mode is actually far easier than I thought it would be.

Next step is to play around with the game engine and game rules. I want to find what part of the code instantiates all of the script functions like onGameStart() etc.

P.S What does DLC stand for?

DLC = DownLoadable Content
