Denote password-protected and restricted-access rooms in the lobby

This is a two-part suggestion regarding the usability of the lobby. To be precise, it is about rooms which are password-protected and rooms which players aren’t allowed to enter at all.

First part: Add a new space for a new icon. This space denotes the access type of the room. It parallels the game state icon.
Simplified, a room can have one of three access types:

  • Open: The room is open for everyone. The access is not prohibited and no password is needed.
  • Password required: The room is only open for those who know the correct password.
  • Closed: Nobody is allowed to join. If there is also a password for this room, ignore it. The “closed” access type takes precendence over the “password required” access type.

These access types can be represented by an icon.

The icons would still have to be designed. I am a terrible designer.

The second part of this suggestion is to add two new filters: One that filters out every passworded room and another one which filters out all closed rooms. Both filters are off by default.

Justification: It is frustrating to have to click through rooms which you couldn’t enter anyways. If implemented, the lobby wouldn’t be so frustrating anymore.

Also, Wuzzy, I'm pretty sure you know about the issue tracker since you've filed stuff before. Best place to track enhancement requests.

That being said, people, please keep using the New Weapons thread for weapon ideas. We really do read 'em, and I've implemented quite a few off of it. Is just that, well, there are a lot of them, and there's overlap, and limited time/space for 'em.

I went ahead and duped 795, since it was already brought up in 787.
Indeed, that's a natural thing to do once room state is being returned to the client.
