If change Image maps with unique themes to Randomly generate\Random maze\Random perlin will get this weird result

Isn't it cool? It's kinda an easter egg. We took special effort to make those themes compatible with land generator.

Haha, “easter egg”, that's an interesting way to frame it.

To be honest, this is just a workaround. In previous versions, the game would just have crashed if you use one of the background-only themes (Blox, Eyes, Planes, Deepspace, CrazyMission) for a random map.

But I agree these land textures are very basic and kind of ugly as well. These themes are meant to be only used as background for maps for now (that's why you cannot select them directly). That's why the land texture is so bad.

This reminds me, if you do this with a non-official themes, the game will still crash (or rather: refuse to start), because of missing land texture. Sad Smiley

IMO the real fix would be to prevent selecting one of these special themes for random maps, because the land texture is crap. This would also fix the crash, obviously.

Oooooor if we would have a nice artist, these themes could be turned into full themes, with proper land texture, land objects, nice effects, and whatnot (but I don't think it's worth it, we have plenty of themes already).

OK, I fixed it now. The theme selection will now automatically change to Nature if the selected theme is unsuitable for random/generated maps (like Eyes, CrazyMission, …).

I intended to fix this a while ago, I just kept forgetting about it. So thanks for bringing it up.

Sorry, unC0Rr, but right now, these themes are just of too low quality to be used in random maps. They are fine as background for static (non-random) maps which don't need the land texture, but that's it.

About theme count: I probably would not outright oppose the addition of new themes, but IMO any new theme at this point must be absolutely perfect, to avoid dragging the overall quality down. Plus, it should be distinct enough from all the other themes to avoid clutter.

My point was more that we already have so many themes that new themes are not really a priority anymore.

I would rather see more static maps and forts. Especially forts, we don't have many of them which means players don't have many choices, thus lowering the variety when playing with forts.

I also consider hedgehog animations (not hats!) to be important, there are just way too few of them and a couple of players keep complaining about that. I (and probably many others!) would really appreciate contributions in this area.

I'm always a fan of more themes so long as they conform to Tiy's style guide from long ago. (and have good shadows/colour)
