This game is amazing. It would be awesome to share this game with a wider audience. I am trying to get my friends to download and play it. I will be getting my Dad soon too as well. But, we need to think of something big to get more people seeing and playing this game. Is there any way we could get an Internet personality to play this game? I've seen several games get massively boosted when they were featured on a show even once. Maybe go the rounds of Linux magazines again or something. The game has so much to offer and is a lot more fun when playing against people rather than Bots; though the Bots are nice.

Thank you! Yes, now that the 1.0.0 is finally out, it's time to think about promotion. The only question is: How? The first obvious (and easy) step is to simply post this game on all websites dedicated to download stuff or game database and similar websites. It's easy, it's just a lot of work. About what comes next … no idea, really. I'm really not a promotion person. I'm glad you bring this topic up, it is important.

I agree that promotion is important, and I think that a lot of features that this game has (being free, doesn't take up a lot of storage space, etc) could attract a TON of people. A lot of people who want to play Worms but don't have the money, or Scorched Earth players (a fun but old 2D artillery game) would find this game fun. Maybe if we talked to a popular YouTuber and got them into it? YouTube is definitely a way to get a crowd. We also have a Reddit, Twitter, and Facebook, so if we keep those up to date... that might help... I would NOT recommend any form of ads (I'm talking about in-game ads or video ads). Those tend to get on my nerves and make me NOT want to play a game, as opposed to the other way around, especially because nowadays companies want to shove in as many paid promotions and ads as possible, but I think you all are careful when it comes to that sort of stuff Smile Of course, there is the classic "spread the word to your friends" deal, but that does take a while. You can probably tell by now, but I am by no means a professional promotion person/dude/guy, but I'll look into it and I'll tell ya what I find. Great post btw Big Grin

I wanted to propose that hedgewars make a listing on itch since it's free and other open source games (SuperTuxKart, Yorg, Super Tux Party, Zero-K, Evolution RTS, GDevelop (really a development tool), etc.) have. STK and Zero-K in particular were able to drum up attention with their itch listings, so I think that could work well here.
