Windows 98 SE and Hedgewars
Sun, 2009-01-18 20:25
Hi
Well, it just got messy. I use Win98 SE on VMworkstion (latest version). A couple of days it went just fine (the game I mean). But now I started it and it got all messed up. The ground layer where the hedgehogs are placed on disappeared. Instead there is a BIG white line across the screen. Animation's fine - hedgehogs do their stuff (kill, die), clouds fly, rain falls, water moves. But ground layer is missing. Any ideas how to fix it (if it's meant to be played on Win98 )?
Thanks in advanced!

Hi!
Something like this? http://hedgewars.org/node/642
Maybe update your grafic driver!
I also had this problem on my Windows XP SP2 with an ATI Radeon 7500 but i fixed it by updating the grafic driver.
kind regards
Hi and thanks for the reply. Well, obviously it doesn't support large textures...But first of all - why did it work a couple of times? And besides - I cannot upgrade the driver since it's a driver installed by VMware Workstation and it's the only driver that works (that's because we use a virtual machine with virtual hardware)...Well, whatever Will play it on my XP-system.
Thanks again
PS: Don't know what resolution Wormux uses, but there I can see everything. But the mouse...Oh, the mouse is a real pain in the arse Can't play on Win98 only because of it. If you can somehow combine the ability of Wormux to display big resolutions (I think they're big since the maps a typical "worms"-maps) and the ability of Hedgehogs to use the mouse, even for crappy resolution it'll fly like a rocket
