Fedora 10 0.9.9/0.9.10 unofficial builds

I'm using Fedora Linux and was annoyed with non-existance of official 0.9.9 build, so I made one myself. I'll try submitting it to official Fedora repos.

Are there any people interested in i686 build? If there are I could try compiling for i686.

I wish they add hedgewars rpm to official repos
I just submitted it to official repo. I'm waiting for response. Will notify you when (and if) I get it.

I got (unofficial) answer that 0.9.9 is scheduled to be released in F11. It' seems the package is still maintained. There's just no official build for F10. It seems F11 is close to RC (release candidate).

By the time they approve 0.9.9, 0.9.10 will be out and you get to start all over again. Slowpokes.

Not entirely true, nemo. If the game is once approved to be included in the package, it'll be definitely easier to be kept there (since most people assume that a next version of something is an improvement of the previous one).

Actually Fedora 11 is in beta stage. We will probably see a couple of release candidates before F11 gets out. Because of that, I guess new packages for F10 should be submited separately. 0.9.7 package exists in F10 repository. 0.9.9. is in F11 CVS. So F11 will include 0.9.9. The problem is that it could take a couple of months before F11 gets out.
Btw, making a package for 0.9.10 is piece of cake. The current Fedora maintaner for Hedgewars did a good job and spec file is pretty sane and clear. I'm not sure why (is it because of the Fedora regulations or what) but it seems the current maintainer doesn't strictly follows Hedgewars release schedule. I didn't yet contact him and can't speak about it right now. I don't have the facts.

I decided I will unofficially make Fedora 10 builds of HW, until 11.0 officialy gets out. When I build 0.9.10 I'll let you know and post download links (i386, x86_64, src).
I see not much interest. But, I'm anyway building it for myself, so why not share.

0.9.10 seems more fun. Barely wait to try it out online.

It seems there will be an official backport to Fedora 10. So you'll have to wait for those. I'm backing off because of the lack of the interes.
But, I'll still provide fresh RPM spec files (and maybe builds) for Fedora 10 & PCLinuxOS on my homepage.
