Why I Don't Like the Jetpack
I highly dislike the jetpack idea because it is pretty much an overpowered rope. It can do ALL things that rope can, plus things it can't (like fly across the map in a couple of seconds). So I thought that maybe it would be better to split the jetpack into two parts- rope and glider. This would give you options that are more flexible and tactical.
The Glider
So here is how the glider works. Basically it is a mix of a RC Plane, parachute, and a rope. Once you select it and activate it using space, your hedgehog will be in a glider. You can still walk and jump, but you can not aim using UP and DOWN. To fly, you simply jump, and you will glide down. While you are in the air, you can control the glider just like an RC Plane. You can dive down to gain momentum and pull back up, and use wind to you advantage. However, in the end, your glider will have no more momentum to stay above the water/land, and you will have to land (but if you land on the ground, you can jump off a cliff and begin to glide again!).Pressing space will eject you, and if you have a parachute, you will automatically use it (it won't open immediately, it will only open when you are going to have fall damage.. If you don't, you simply fall.
While you are in a glider, you (just like in rope) can select a weapon, and fire it at maximum power if the weapon has a power-meter by using space. Your cross-hair is always straight in front of you, and it works with laser sight. Once you use a weapon, you have 3 seconds to land/eject. If you don't, you will automatically eject. So what happens to the glider? It crashes, doing about 15 damage if it gets a direct hit on a hedgehog.
So in the end, you can use it as a transport to get over large distances (and if the wind is strong, you might even be able to fly up), or a way to use DEagle to push 4 for hogs of the map.

our jetpack will not be like the worms jetpack but the glider idea is interesting
I like the idea very much! (A bit complicated but nonetheless worth it!) It think having that diversity, and control in the air, makes it a bit more challenging and interesting. Especially when you hop out and let it go. I like it.

Must say I like this idea too. (needs some fixes here and there but it's good in general) The UFO is one of the new version weapons and it kind of works like the jet-pack; honestly I also think the fuel lasts way too long and it's likely to go under some fine tuning next version. (.13)
Still the rope needs some more 'gimpage' and A LOT of bug-fixing, like only be able to use it in mid-air without spend another rope 3 times or something, 'cause in almost every single game all I play\spectate there is rope abuse, almost NO ONE ever bothers to shoot from far anymore AT ALL unless the game keeps going for so long they run out of ropes.

I like this idea, very unique, and will probably require more skill than a jetpack to use effectively. When people do learn the finer aspects of it, you'll be seeing some pretty cool stuff getting pulled off.
Also, should the user be able to change directions in it, or only go one direction once they launch (unless of course they land and jump off in a different direction)?
Another tweak that might make things interesting would be to add "kickback" when you fire from the glider... like the glider stops moving horizontally and stalls, dropping some altitude before it resumes gliding...

The UFO is differently implemented than the Worms Jetpack but i still don't like how it feels. I get the whole "lander" approach but it needs better handling somehow while keeping a diffuclty level to master it. Also, less fuel !
