Advanced players vs. newbies
Hi, guys
I was looking in the Ubuntu forum yesterday and an idea hit me on the forehead - support. Each and every good community is based on good support. If you're new to something (in our case - HW), you'll be looking forward to people who'll guide you at least at the very beginning. Here's my suggestion, which will be fully voluntary from more advanced players - training rooms on the official server. The idea is pretty simple - since the server is running 24/7 (at least I think so), there can always be 2-3 empty training rooms. It'll be structured the following way:
1 "teacher"
n "students"
When a player enters a training room he'll be offered a choice to be either a teacher (if there isn't any in the room) or a student. A game will start with at least 1 teacher and 1 student (according to the number of students in the room it will be better to add a tutor-position too - to help the teacher).
Now the aim of this will be advanced HW-players to show the very basics and some tricks of course to new players who are not sure what to do. Yes, there'll be training missions and yes - there's single player where one can beat his/her head against the wall home alone. But it's always better if a living person shows you how it's done.
As I said above - voluntary occupation. When you enter the server's lobby and see the rooms and if there are people in there (students/teachers), you might want to join to learn or give a lesson or two.
I know it sounds like virtual HW-school and actually - it is But it happenes often that an advanced player starts a game and suddenly he realizes that the other(s) don't know how to jump, shoot more accuratly etc. Instead of being rude and leaving the game, it'll be much better to show them how it's done the right way. This will definitely gain more HW-lovers when everyone wants to help and gets help when needed.

Here is my Unofficial Manual for HW. Hope you like it. Still working on it. Don't worry. Will get it finished...Sometime in the future.
I totally agree with you. This is a great idea!
A lot of people don't know how to play such games, but I think these are the coolest ever, and new players can benefit of advanced players' skills
And this will probably ensure that this community rise in number and quality.
I don't know if I'm "very" good, but I used to play Worms when I was young, and well this is the same gameplay. So will add my help, if you need it
Totally agreeable. (I have terrible aim)
