Hi,
I installed Hedgewars from the repositories and all worked fine. Now I installed a newer Version from this homepage and my game crashes every 5 min. By "Crashes" I mean that during a game I suddently fall back to the menu. The menu works fine and I can start another game for the next 5 minutes..

All other stuff like graphics, sounds etc work perfect.

I'd like to play this version because otherwise I wouldn't be able to play online.

Do you have any idea what's wrong?

Mfg Mo3bius

I think it may have something to do with the graphics card driver.? Anyway, I have completed a few games without crashing....

PS: Is this the right forum for hedgewars bug tracking?

Bingo---

Heres your Bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/314928

NOTE: This bug only effects Ubuntu Jaunty with the Intel graphics driver families.

Heres some step-by-steps working towards a fix:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1130582

And just for the sake of offering options, here is an alternate description for a fix that has worked for some other hedgewars Ubuntu users:

Hope this does the trick for ya!

One of the instructions for this fix reads:
Quote:

1. Edit your xorg.conf:
Code:
$ gksudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Find the "Device" section and make sure it looks identical to the following (important: remove or comment any of your previous customizations):
Code:

Section "Device"
Identifier "Configured Video Device"
Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
Option "EXAOptimizeMigration" "true"
Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy"
Option "Tiling" "true" # i8xx users: set to false
EndSection

I found that my system performed better without all the extra options. My conf reads simply:

Quote:

Identifier "Configured Video Device"

This might help too, it did for me.
