sometimes when you join rooms on daytimes when only few people are playing, you will find that the host of the room isn't watching any more if people joined (happened to me too once... I opened a room, was waiting for players and started surfing the web after a while, so that I didn't realize that people already joined the room).

In cases like these a wake up button would come in handy. Like, every player can click it once in a minute and a sound is played for the host, so that he'll realize that someone is in the room.

Alternatively a sound could be played every time a second player joins the room.
