Okay, played the game a bit longer... here are my latest demands ideas Big Grin

1. Pressing ESC could cancel the currently typed message. Or is there already a key that does this?
2. Each weapon set could specify a default weapon (eg. Bazooka for Pro Mode, Rope for Shoppa). This could save time switching to rope in shoppa, and avoid giving away valuable information about other weapons you might have.
3. Instead of autocompletion for taunts, just recognise '/s' for '/sad', '/p' for '/ilovelotsoflemonade' etc.
4. Option to disable rain in city theme (besides Reduce Quality, which turns off all backgrounds completely).
5. List of teams should automatically reorder with the most recently used at the top of the list.
6. Double-clicking a name in the lobby could act as a shortcut to displaying player info.
7. Going back should cancel unsaved changes to config settings.
8. I'm used to the new rope mode now, but there are still others who don't like it. So maybe make it optional.
9. Some indicator of how long the current game in a room has been in progress would be useful.
10. As would a tooltip showing current game settings (map, game scheme, weapon set) if possible.
11. Host quitting should pass on room control to another player. Rooms should only be destroyed when all players leave.
12. Option to save other players' game schemes and weapon sets.
13. It shouldn't be possible to modify provided game schemes and weapon sets. Players can create copies and modify them instead.
14. Points-for-weapons mode as I suggested before. Each team gets a number of points to spend on weapons and utilities.
15. Show ammo for shotgun and deagle (for this turn) in square brackets.
16. H should home in on crate drops and any other events.
17. Sounds (anything will do atm) for room events, i.e. player join, player leave, all players ready
18. Persistent rooms for training and such, which don't need a host
19. Option to skip replay when joining a room
20. Disable click on map button until map is actually generated.
21. Option/button to shuffle team playing order
22. Option to surrender as a polite(ish) way of resigning a game (instead of just dropping out).
23. What's happening with http://hedgewars.org/node/1172 ? How about generating the teams up to skill level 4 randomly, and the level 5 team can be the developers... unC0Rr, Tiy, nemo etc Smile
24. Quick game could default to previously used match settings rather than being completely random.
25. Chat could be colorized using team colors.
26. In credits, display names like this: Andrey "unC0Rr" Korotaev

Some of these are hopefully going to be implemented already (I'm sure you'll point out which ones). Geek

If you only implement one of these things, make it #14 Big Grin Love the game anyhow, keep up the great work Smile

Hi, busy beaver Big Grin

1) Well, I agree here. It's almost the same if you have to erase the whole message with ESC and then press Enter to send an empty one (isn't displayed at all), or press ESC to erase and exit the chat, then press T again if you want to write a new comment...Both systems are very very similar...Both aren't that good. Smile I would prefer to be able to mark single words in my message and erase/replace them with new ones instead of deleting my whole message for just one or two stupid mistakes...

2) Nice one. Although it's only good for the shoppa.

3) Yes, shorter taunts would be very nice. And the dev.team won't have to implement autocomplition ability. Wink Smiley

4) I don't understand this one. You don't like City theme and the rain together? In order to improve the performance it'll be much better to add an option to enable/disable rain-effect which will affect all themes. I do believe that a lot of the power that the game needs is for this continuos dynamic effect.

5) Well, a nice extra but definitely not a MUST. Besides not everyone has 10 and more human-teams (the AI-teams don't matter, you don't play with them in multi).

6) Maybe I'm wrong but I think something else's planned for this double-clickin' action. Smile

7) Yep, I've just noticed that. Save-button is in this case totally useless. Smile

8) Whut new rope-mode?

9) Nice extra.

10) Planned in the future I think.

11) Good one. Especially when it happenes that the host has slow connection and suddenly disconnects.

12) Not so important.

13) Game shemes which are default in the game at least by me cannot be modified.

14) WWP again Smile

15) Deagle's implemented in the new version (nemo's words). Look in the news page - first or second one.

16) Would be nice although it'll make problems if you don't want to look at the crate but around your hedgehog and plan your strategy. If the map's vast, your hedgehog's somewhere at the left end and a crate drops on the right you'll loose the hedgehog (although you don't want to look at the crate), and will loose precious time to find it again. Kind of a knife with two blades.

17) Better not. In the evening (and I hope in the future - almost 24/7) lots of players are joining and leaving. Your computer will beep a lot...Just like the horrible noises Skype makes (disabled all of them only ring/drop call/file transfer). It'll be pretty annoying.

18) I've suggested something like that (a virtual HW-school) but I guess the idea wasn't so cool as I thought.

19) Would be great although I think it has pretty much to do with the game itself and receiving the data from the network.

20) I think they'll/have fix(ed) that.

21) That's nice. Especially for multi, because it's not so fair if team A always starts before team B. Smile

22) Well, cool, but not necessary. You can always type: "I surrender. Thanks for the game! Was fun to play with you.". Wink Smiley

23) Big Grin Well, nice idea, but you can always name your teams whatever you want to. Smile

24) Dunno about that.

25) Look in the forum...There will be flags and colors. Wink Smiley

@2 Minefield too... usually you want to start with rope and not fire punch

@4 I like the rain, my netbook doesn't. The rain is *only* in the city theme, so a button that turns this off rain would only affect this *one* theme.

@8 I meant new as in, coming from worms. Big Grin

@13 Game themes can't be modified... weapon sets can. Okay, maybe it doesn't save between program executions, but still. It should be grayed out or something.

@16 You mean a double-edged sword Smile

@17 Won't have to worry about that in any of the rooms I make...

(1) Yes. "Esc". It does already work :-p

(2) Default wep is an interesting approach, but in Shoppa switching to rope is very quick and easy, just hitting F8.
Simpler would be to alter weapon switching so switching to a new wep only occurs on consumption of current wep, that would leave you always on Rope in shoppa if you switched back to it. And, for cases of consumption of wep, defaulting to Skip Turn to avoid people bazookaing themselves after using up their ropes.

(3) Not going to happen. Whole point is taunt should take some time.

(4) If you're on a netbook you'd be better off w/ Reduce Quality all the time Smile But everyone has different needs, this one is a little too special-case. If the rain is really that much of a problem for you, you can remove it in the theme. Is pretty easy.

(5) Meh. Not excited about this one. Someone who cares about it can do it.

(6) Ditto.

(7) Ditto

(8) Definitely not happening. They'll just have to learn it.

(9),(10) This already in works. Smaxx expressed an interest a while ago.

(11) I'd like this, but I don't think it is practical. Ask unC0Rr but I think this'd be a pretty big change. Hosts need to be more responsible is all. Avoid lousy hosts Smile

(12) I like this one. Even though a lot of those wep sets are pretty lame. This one I can actually take an interest in Smile

(13) Confused. It isn't.

(14) Interesting, but I don't feel like trying it. If you care, feel free to implement it.

(15) I added a shots remaining for deagle. I'll add one for shotgun too.

(18) This seems of limited utility. If you're on your own, make your own room or use quick game if you don't know how to make a room. If you're with someone else, they can host. Anyway, seems to be a complex feature for little benefit.

(19) I think this would require a pretty big engine rework, but check w/ unC0Rr. Issue is that replaying the game is necessary since the game only stores the instructions, so to get to final state all the previous states must be replayed, making it so they aren't visible seems a bit complicated.

(20) Huh? That should be virtually instantaneous. Click slower or... Something is wrong over there impacting your performance. Would like more info on your env. This could also relate to (4).

(21) In discussion already, and other ways to rotate players.

(22) Meh. Dropping out is lame. But don't see surrender as much better than typing something before you quit. If you really feel pwned, just kill off your own hogs.

(23) *shrug* Seems ok, doesn't interest me that much. Smile Making teams is pretty easy.

(24) Naw. That sucks. Defeats purpose.

@1 I never actually tried this, lol. Just assumed it wouldn't work. But still, you have to press enter afterwards, which is kind of annoying.

@3 Didn't know that.

@4 Ok, I turned down the intensity down from 1500 to 200 and that works fine.

@13 I thought I was able to change it. Anyway, default wep sets could be grayed out like default game schemes.

@14 Would love to if I thought I could!

@19 Maybe an option to change replay speed or something? Problem for me is that my comp struggles with ropes, so replaying shoppa games at speed is a nightmare. Frozen hog!

@25 Aww. Will there be anything? Flags? It's a pain trying to figure out whose team is whose. Aghh

Well, there were a couple of discussions plus Tiyuri said in the news (look at the AirStrike-article) that there will be flags on the planes (at least) so... Smile Let's hope it'll happen. I've always liked the team-customization possibilities in Worms. And as it seems there will be such in HW too. Smile
