MegaBall Gun
Hi guys!I was thinking about a new weapon, unfortunately I'm not the best drawer so I'll try to explain you with words. This weapon don't create, like ballgun, a lot of tiny balls that explode, but it creates a unique enormous ball (or a bubble) that rolls on the terrain and press the terrain down, decreasing it a lot, damaging hedgehogs or (if they were at the water level) drawn. It's like the nuclear bomb of worms, but here there's not the sea that increase the water's level, but it's the ground that decrease. Ok, I'll try to make a picture so you can see it.
First, the hedgehog create the ball (I don't know, like inflating a bubble)
Second, the ball begins to roll on the terrain
Third, , The ball presses the terrain and damages hedgehogs, and fall finally in the water. In caverns (if we follow the theory of inflating it) we can make an animation that after...7-8 seconds the ball deflates just like a balloon.

I like the idea but decreasing the whole terrain on the ball's path is too complex I think. That means that each point of the terrain has to be moved downwards and besides - if there are any "cave" or "tunnels" the engine'll have to calculate how to deform them in order to simulate the flattening effect. It's great indeed but toooo much work.
EDIT: Aaah, after seeing the pictures I get it what you mean. So your idea is to just lower the whole thing and not to deform it...In that case - it'll be easier. Something like in the Indiana Jones running followed by the big rock.

Well, my thought was to decreasing the whole terrain in the path, but I trust you if you say that it's too much work, so we can think about your solution I like the idea of indiana jones, and it also remembered me the hogoliath (I don't know why) that was suggested times ago, maybe we can merge the two things?

Well, actually my "solution" is much more complicated. Your is "just" to pick up the terrain and move it downwards. Mine is to move parts of the terrain downwards and deform everything on the path of the big ball.
About the hogoliath - yeh, it'll be nice.
