How about using all that water down there for something, e.g. a submarine (either as a weapon or a mode of transportation), sharks who can come and eat the poor little hedgehogs who fall in the water, ...
No need for sharks - a hegdehog in the water drowns.
As for the submarine etc. - some weapons like the cake for example can go under water and even under the whole terrain if there is a continous solid ground for it to walk on.
