hi,

i got a problem when i want to join a game (lan or internet doesnt matter).

when i create a new game i can play with others without crashing to the desktop, but sometimes (well, actually almost every second game) when i want to join a game, the client crashes without any message.

im running ubuntu 9.04 and vista on the same machine (as dualboot) and the problem only occurs with vista.

it almost looks like a networking problem, but shuting down my firewall doesnt hinder the problem to occure. i also tried the compatiblity mode, that neither helps.

p.s. my mothertounge isnt english, so please ignore my mispellings Wink Smiley

p.s.s another bug showed up, when i click on the picture of the map, the game crashes. hm...

Can't be a generic Vista problem. Running fine here on Vista Ultimate (x64).

The crash when creating new randomized maps is already fixed in the current dev version as far as I know.

What firewall software (and version) are you running?

Edit:
Does the problem happen when you join a running game only or does it happen as well if you join a game right at the beginning?

Happens even if the game hasnt started yet.

Using Comodo Firewall as well - so can't be the issue.

Rather strange. How about some more hardware details?

Hi. I have the same problem with game crashing to the desktop, but on Windows XP.
Crash happened when joining the room or clicking on the image of map.

Forgot a stupid question: What crashes? Frontend (chat, game selection, options, etc.) or the engine (game itself; where you play)?

I think i have the same problem. I'm running Athlon X2 6400+, 8800GT and XP professional 32bit version.

Always i join a internet server, i doubleclick it from the list of servers, the game crashes. It goes instantly to my desktop. It doesnt say anything, just closes the game...

And here is the log, i dont know is this the right one but i'll try Smile And i'm new in these forums.

I've got exactly the same problem, again running comodo firewall, XP SP3. To join a network game I have to disable the firewall. On the same machine other firewalls such as pc tools firewall or outpost firewall the game joins fine.

Odd thing is there are no firewall events logged in comodo, and hedgewars processes are all trusted applications, yet still something is blocked. I could post a wireshark dump if that helps.
