I think that these suggestions will make the game more interesting:

-A mod that changes the functionality of the Girder (A: you can build as many girders as you have and it doesn´t ends your turn, in a limited radius B: you can build 1 girder per turn, but in any part.

+Landscape interactive objects (Can be turned off)
-Machine guns
-Vehicles
-Bunkers
-So on

-Another homing gun (Accept it. The UFO is a very bad weapon. Let´s make a weapon that works better, but with less ammo)
[i]If you do this, don´t erase the UFO.

-Bungee!!!

-Instant action weapons (Let me explain):

A weapon called "Paradrops". You select a place and then, about 3-5 parachute hedgehogs go down. When they touch the ground, they use machine guns to attack the enemy. When the turn finishes, they go away in jetpacks.

-Make a mods page. And create more mods for the game.

Good work until now!

That will be very abusive IMO.

Agreed! Sounds good.

Isn't rope just enough and even more powerful?

That's how girder used to be. I think it's much more useful now.

I think terrain objects have been mentioned before. Machine guns etc would just be silly though. And the UFO isn't a bad weapon in the hands of a skilled player, there's no need for a "homing gun".

I agree the idea of a parachute.

Talking about parachutes, I recommend these items:

-Wings (Tap space bar to go up)
-Glider (I KNOW THAT THIS IS IN ANOTHER FORUM)
-Scuba Suit (It only works for 1 round of turns. It will give you the ability to survive in the water)

Also, I think that the game need more weapons. What about these?:

-Thunder (Random place on the map)
-MHM Thunder (You choose the place. 25% less damage than thunder)
-STORM OF THE GODS (10 Thunders)
-Flamethrower
-Black Hole (OK. Let´s give it a delay of 10 turns)
-MIRV (A bazooka that splits in 2 missiles)

Oooohkay Smile

Wings: Well, wait for the UFO (not the one used as a weapon; that might be renamed I guess) and see if it's what you'd expect - had the wings idea as well, but that's another story.

Glider: Hm? Similar to parachute but with slower diving? Not sure what you expect.

Scuba Suit: Basic idea might work but how to get out of water? Would be one of those "usefull on one of 100 maps". How to get out of water (assuming there are some cliffs like on most maps)? But well ... what do others think about it? Wink Smiley

Thunder (all ideas): There are plans for something better (not a donkey) but noone had time to do it (so far).

Flamethrower: As far as I know there are plans on more fire weapons (reworking of napalm strike, flamethrower, molotov) once fire (and maybe physics) is redone.

Black Hole: A weapon to make the game a draw by killing everything? I'd prefer something like the nuke in the classic worms series. Smile

MIRV: Not sure - new weapon but very similar gameplay. Depending on the situation cluster bomb and mortar might be as effective act very similar.

-----

My thoughts regarding the opening post ideas:

Girder modification: Suggested that as well - could do a game mode toggle once I've go some time as I don't think it should be too hard to do. On the other hand I remember tons of old worms 2 games where people abused girders to trap enemies over and over again etc. But well, personal preferences I guess. Smile

Landscape objects: I understand what you'd like to see but such things don't fit well into randomized maps etc. But there might be some interesting uses for scenarios/missions/training maps.

Homing weapon: I miss the pigeon but it's similar to the cake in some situations ... The ufo is enough in my opinion but the game needs some more weapons that are either affected by wind or need some proper setup (position/timing) so it's not just "who got the bigger guns" or "who's better at straight aiming". Smile
Could think of a homing missile targeting a beacon shot like the bazooka first. So you shoot the beacon, aim again and shoot the rocket.

Bungee: To be honest I never used it in any worms game. I don't even remember how to use id (think I used it once or twice without just falling down Big Grin).

Instant Action: Maybe for missions etc. Standard gameplay should rely on players acting themself (other than remote things like air strike etc.).

Mods Page: As long as there's no way to load mods from additional files (similar to plugin dlls or using scripting) I see no use for such things. If you manage to code your own game modes, weapons, toggles or whatever, submit the code on the forums and it might be included in the official release.

That was not exactly what I mean by saying "Black Hole"

I talk about a weapon that make a HUGE hole on the map. Also, the hedgehogs that were there will suffer "Changes":

-Some will die
-Get life 1
-Get life 999 (This is a bit stupid)
-Slow down

That was my idea of black hole

My idea of glider is this:

The hedgehog will be in a Delta Wing. With a button (Like space bar) it will jump and start gliding. Then, you can control the angle.

The solution of the scuba is easy. Every scuba suit must have a "Special Scuba Rope". With it, the hedgehog will reach the edges of the terrain.

I agree: the map objects fit perfectly on missions or trainings.
