I was wondering are there any plans to fix the rope physics? I mean when a mine explodes near a rope and the rope is still intact or some times when the hook is hanging in air because the mine exploded near it.

same happens when you hook the rope to a crate and then pick it.

the only obvious fix would be to let the rope vanish in these situations which is not wanted right now.

there was a thread about it but i can't find it right now. i think it'll stay this way.

That's due to the way the rope works right now. It could be considered as a bug but it's not like it happens every second game or so (-> not THAT important like some other bugs and caveats right now). Hedgewars doesn't use any complex physics engine - it might need some huge rewrites to get this working (haven't taken any look at that part of the code).

I don't see it that complex. Just that rope shouldn't hook into either crates or hogs and we have half the problem solved.

As for explosives, just like a hog gets his turn end if an explosion reach him, it should be the same for ropes, instead of ending turn, rope get wasted.

Of course, I also haven't seen how the code is written but I imagine it wouldn't be that complex but I could be wrong of course.

It would be easy to make the rope disconnect in those situations but I think that would make the game less fun. Realism is overrated.
