random audio error crashed the game in progress
$ ./bin/hedgewars
(./bin/hedgewars) INFO - Output device: ALSA Software on default
hedgewars: pcm_pulse.c:361: pulse_write: Assertion `pcm->stream' failed.
system:
eeebuntu
pulse audio
Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller (rev 02)
hedgewars options: hardware audio ON
You're running the latest files available on svn? The hardware audio option should be gone if you're not running on Windows.
WRT pulseaudio, issues with it have been long standing.
Try replacing:
libsdl1.2debian-alsa
with
libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio
Other alternatives include:
Getting rid of pulseaudio.
Disabling sound/music.
Turning off compiz (in some configurations, not reliable, but can help).
Apparently being looked at by the pulse guys.

Also impacts other SDL mixer games, such as Wesnoth:

Oh. Very important.
The SDL comment above is irrelevant.
The problem reported was prior to reverting to SDL audio, was when using the openal bridge - my bad. Didn't notice that.
That was removed prior to release of 0.9.12 - to be possibly reintroduced in next release.
Well. If anyone else using actual release notices this thread, at least they'll have the SDL fix.
