Mac Problems: Name and health bars plus more just grey?

My dad is trying to play on his mac, however is having problems with the latest version. When he starts the game it has nothing but grey bars for the names, health and more. I tried to get a screenshot but he wasn't able to. I only now how on windows.
what version are you using of hedgewars are you using and what system are you on?
It should be really helpful if you could get a screenshot (if the bug is reproducible)
