I like! Smile

You might wanna work a little on lines, tho. Some look a little too blurred but small leaves are a bit pixelated.

Very nice though the whole thing looks a little bit blurred. It kind of lacks the sharpness of the HW art style. Have you considered doing this in let's say Inkscape? The leaves are still too blurred and the hanged hedgehog (really love this one Big Grin) has striped all over its face. BUT the map is really a good battlefield. Wink Smiley

Well, look at the First ingame Picture, thats much better! I think it fits into the style with the Background... And the face is stripped cause i couldnt find a neck;)

I made another one cause my pre-scool son wanted his own Fort and he gave me a Picture how he wanted to have it:

So I tried...:

Yeah, I like the idea. Is a more functional fort, while still having potential for attractiveness.

But if you want Tiy to accept it, I'd suggest bringing it into conformance with the style guide thread.

Some tracing in inkscape + increasing border width after might help w/ that. Some other things that can be done in GIMP, but they are a bit more complicated to go over and anyway I kinda suck at graphics. Smile

Maybe Palewolf or Tiy can help.

Well, you don't need much more than rectangles for the job, but to summarize, everything in Inkscape is a shape. You have some preset shapes, such as rectangles, circles, stars... and custom shapes. Of course, you can always convert a preset shape to custom so you can modify it to your needs.

You may want to start with a single log, wich would be a rounded rectangle. Texturize it with other freely drawed shaped or import a texture from Gimp if you're more into pixel art (Ctrl+Shift+F to open styles window), add 2 circles for nails and gruop the whole thing together (Ctrl+G).
Duplicate or clone that and you can build the fort in no time.

For leaves you'll have to use freely drawed shapes. My preferred way to do that is just draw the outline of the object with straight bezier curves then enter node mode and adjust curves. There are several ways to do that latter, but you will probably find easier to just grab the line and pull.

If you have any doubts you can always reach Tiy or me @ the IRC channel, altought i'm pretty sure Tiy doesn't use Inkscape.

To tell you the truth...it's awesome. Smile Only two things - the leaf on the top most diagonal joist (or whatever this is called) that hangs in the air should be a little bit higher. Smile And the hanged hedgehog is still not good enough. Especially the eyes. They look as if you've drawns them in Paint.

The hanged hedgehog still needs to a little be of redrawing. But the rest is great. I hope/think this map might land in the map-pack in the next release. Smile

btw I think you should change the position of the little guy on the rope. These hedgehogs don't have necks. So what you can do is hang the hedgehog on his feet. Big Grin It's actually a common practice in some countries to punish bad people like that. And here it's more logical. So beside redrawing the eyes you can turn him over to look downwards. And another small suggestion - put a sign above him telling everyone what crime he's been hanged for. Big Grin Better be something funny too. Wink Smiley

I don't think the hanging necessarily has to be logical. Hedgewars usually doesn't worry about things like scale and anatomy Smile

Overall, I like it, although of course I defer to Tiy and Palewolf in these matters.

If one of 'em tells me to check it in (esp Tiy) I will. Smile

Tiy didn't like appearance, although I didn't press him for details.

I suppose it is a bit more "practical" a fort than some of the others.

Well, anyway, why not jump on IRC and ask him for advice?

I like the fort, personally. However, I wouldn't use it because I can see wasting the majority of my turns attempting to get out of the triangular spaces. Also, what has already been mentioned is the Dead hog's eyes. They're solid, they lack any anti-aliasing.

Here, I've taken 20 seconds out of my time, re-used the dead hog grave's eyes and mouth, and your "hanger" and made it for you, just paste this over the top of yours.

Hi, Dragonfly!
Did you mention that the Fort is in 0.9.13?
The Devs didnt want a dead Hog so its a kind of Teddybear now.
And dont say it looks ugly, i dint draw it;)
