Adding artificial life to the maps
Hi, guys.
Just enjoying 0.9.13 and I thought - why not add some life to the maps. My idea is all about adding visuals and nothing to disturb the balance of the gameplay (that is - player can't controll it and the AI can't use it to influence the battle). The idea is as follows: add ai-controlled creatures like flies and butterflies on random locations just flying following a predefined path (for example a fly can fly in small circles that are arranged in a big circle (just to make the flight more natural-looking)). In the water there might be some life too - a couple of jellyfishes, an octopus or two and some fishes just swimming (maybe their locations should be in different "layers" (don't mean depth here!) of the water (like above its surface we have water then solid ground and clouds, and then background) so that the water looks more three dimensional). Of course not all maps have water (some have oil-looking fluid on its place) so each theme (this applies only to maps that use a certain theme) will have different creatures (flying and swimming) (textures are different but the behaviour should be the same to make things easier to do).
I think this will make each theme-based map more alive and give the feeling that even without the hedgehogs there it is still "breathing".

Here is my Unofficial Manual for HW. Hope you like it. Still working on it. Don't worry. Will get it finished...Sometime in the future.
I second this idea.

I remember a discussion about allowing scriptable objects in themes, but i don't see anything like that happening in the near future.
