Start-of-turn timer, shotgun aiming during firing
Two things that bug me, and apologies if I should have made this into two topics:
1) WA had a start-of-turn timer that was pretty much essential in hotseat games, and is pretty darn nice in casual games. Don't remember the name but essentially, if you had a 30-second turn and a 10-second pre-turn, then you could take the first ten seconds to swap seats, chat, or whatever. The real timer only started counting down whenever you moved, selected a weapon, aimed, etc. Crates drop before the pre-turn timer starts.
The pre-turn timer lets you chat about a shot that just happened, lets you scan the map to figure out where the heck that crate just dropped and how you want to get there (without punishing people on lower resolution), and of course, lets you kick the other player out of your chair.
2) The bazooka, and all other variable-power weapons, let you change your aim while holding down the space bar to charge it. The shotgun doesn't. Now, the shotgun doesn't exactly charge per se, but it does pump. There's a period of time between hitting 'fire' and it actually firing, and it would be really nice if you could continue to aim it during this time. Yeah...partly this is a chance to cover your butt if you need to take someone out with 1 second left on the clock, but it also keeps the player from feeling like there's a brief period of not being able to do anything between pressing space and something happening.
It's a minor feature from WA, but it felt extremely weird not having it here.
Additional 3) Hell, it would be nice to be able to aim your Desert Eagle shots during the cooldown after each shot, and press space during the cooldown to tell it to immediately fire the shotgun or Desert Eagle as soon as you're capable. It bugs me when I'm running out of time, but I can't use all my shots because I can't mash the space bar fast enough / on the right frame. (For aiming if you do this: in the shotgun's case, you are re-aiming after pumping, while in the Desert Eagle's case, you are re-aiming during the cooldown.)
i like 1) but i don't find it 2) and 3) very useful
