"Using a Weapon Doesn't End Your Turn" mode
I've been playing hedgewars for a fair while now, ever since I first got Windows 7 and could not get Worms World Party to work.
For the first time in a long time, my friends and I finally played WWP again this weekend.
There is a game mode in there, "Using a Weapon Doesn't End Your Turn" mode, which makes the game REALLY different.
You get 10 seconds and can use any weapons you like as many times as you like.
As a consequence we normally end up shooting 20-50 bazookas or granades at each other, low accuracy that can be changed between shots.
I'd love to have that mode available as a game modifier so that we could create our own custom game scheme.
If required I can get a video of the game mode in action so you can see exactly what I mean... just let me know.
We've been talking about that mode for months now. Is on the TODO list. In theory, should not be terribly hard to implement but there could be some edge cases that will need testing.
You might have noticed Tiy using a basic version of this mode in a demo video from early summer.

That would be good, Would add a new element of gameplay
Hello!
what a great job you guys did on this game, its excellent.
I agree with TS that using a weapon doesnt end your turn mode is absolutely a must for any game in this genre, but unfortunately havent seen it since WWP(which does not run on any modern PC). So yeah, implement this and i will be a hedgewars fan for life!
I dont think you should be able to use the extreme weapons like the heelish hand gernade, watermelon bomb, or ball gun though. That would just be really unfair. Also I think you should have a limit of how many weapons you are able to shoot in that time period, like 5-10 bazookas or something.
I will not eat a melon bomb. Or a dynamite. Or a hellish hand grenade. Or a bird. Or my sister. Or my computer...
Hehe, it's supposed to be overpowered tho.
But the real advantage of "using a weapon doesn't end your turn mode" was in the ability to make exciting missions. I remember in WWP there were missions where you were given like a rope, a blowtorch, a shotgun and a firepunch... Then you had 45 seconds to use all of those weapons in some kind of sequence that would allow you to reach the enemy and dispatch him. Otherwise, he'd dispatch you with a concrete donkey or something overpowered.
Looking forward to seeing some version of this in a future version

Try out latest .14 - has a basic infinite attack mode (a little rough around edges, but hopefully will be improved).
I've been playing it w/ 10 second default, or else 45 seconds + reset weapons mode w/ just 1 bazooka, 1 grenade, 1 girder, 1 firepunch, 1 blowtorch.
