Linux: Switching the frontend to fullscreen/window-mode by pressing F12
Greetings everyone!
I'm new at the forums and got an idea for at least the Linux users.
Now, everyone knows it is possible to switch the ingame window from fullscreen to windowed-mode by pressing the F12 button.
As I'm someone who often switches from fullscreen to windowed-mode as long as the match didn't started (simply because I often check my mails or instant messages from AIM and such) I have to turn off the fullscreen mode manually by going over the settings-section and deactivate it instand of just pressing F12 like ingame.
Now, how about adding this feature also to the frontend so you can faster switch between these two options, fullscreen and window?
I believe it makes the game more comfortable for us and would also work well.
Alternatively, how about to combine ingame- and frontend-window?
Doing it this way, you would just have to switch once and you wouldn't end up wrong when switching from a program like AIM or your internet browser back to Hedgewars.

Thanks for reading :]
Not much to add about the binding, but I often compulsively check IRC / surf web / read mail before and during games.
I just alt-tab a lot and leave it in windowed mode.
I suppose you're on a netbook or something?

Hi nemo
Nope, I'm not playing Hedgewars on a Netbook (yet) but it still bugs me when I gotta check my mails or IMs a lot while playing.
That's why I had the idea to bring the fullscreen/window-switch also to the game's frontend.

Combining the game windows woul dbe nice, but It might involve mixing different segments of code- I don't know, I'm just guessing.
My favorite sport: nerd sniping.
Hi rockachu2
I don't think it would be that difficult for the developers to combine both windows to one.
However, I haven't played Hedgewars for like two weeks now which is why I also missed the update.
Gonna download it during the day and check out if they changed it.
Probably not, but it would indeed be nice
