pause in lan game

i know that the pause option (P key) has been removed from lan game due to abuse. now thanks to nemo i already know how to enable it for our local lan parties, but the problem with that is that:

- you need to rebuild hw for all platforms (in mixed environment)
- win32 compilation sucks (big time)

therefore i'd like to suggest that the pause possibility is a setting of the room and/or the server. the server config would contain something like

pause=[ yes | no | room_decides ]

of course hw official server would contain pause=no, changing nothing for the users playing matches. if pause=room_decides then the decision would be made by the room creator.

How about allowing to vote ingame for pause? Someone, who need to afk, asking for pause and all need to vote... And add option to disable pause and voting at all, ofc.

i think voting for pause would make it too complex. and besides, have you seen such thing in any other game?

I saw different votes many times, for pause - never. But can devs of the game only copy ideas of other games? Why not to add something unique? I dont know how successfully will my idea, just gave idea.

A player can now (since 0.9.21 iirc) type

/callvote pause

and the others can
/vote yes
or
/vote no

in the game's chat.

Repeat for UNpausing!
