Hello everybody here is a Tron Legacy tribute map

Map is now fully playable. I used a mask so that the grid is not solid anymore. The recognizers are indestructible.

All the discs, cycle wheels and title letters have secret entrances so the map can be used in shoppa mode.

I'll post a larger version this evening, actual map is too small and objects are too close... But you can still send me a feedback.

Just a question, new posted maps do have a chance to be in future hedgewars packages? What are the conditions?

If the maps match the style guideline and are of good quality, and the person is willing to release under GPL, they will absolutely be included.

Thanks for the information, do you think this map quality is enough for now? I had no time to change size this evening, I'll do it tomorrow.

The appropriate person to ask about that is Tiyuri (or Palewolf, if he reappears).

To my un-artistic eye it seems fine.

I'll link Tiy to the thread if he hasn't seen it already.

Hey, map looks great. Smile

My only advice (after maybe spacing the objects out a little), would be to add a mask to this. You can define certain areas of the map indestructible/solid/background by adding a mask.png and painting in red/white. I think in terms of playability, this would play better if the grid underneath the HOGS logo was only in the background.

You miiiight want to make the interior of the lettering solid, too, although, there is just enough space for hogs to walk inside them, so maybe you like it as is. Opening up the lightcycle wheels could also give the hogs another place to hide, but not sure how it would look.

Anyway, nice work. I look forward to trying the next version.

Thanks for the advice, I didn't know about masks, I'll apply one after resizing map, it looks very easy to do... Illustrator + Photoshop rule!!

I think your paintingskills are great, but the map looks a little overload...
A little more free space would be nice.

I have to say Thomas' comment is a matter of taste, shoppa guys like little land, lots of space. Regular players often feel the opposite.

One thing that bugged me is that Hedgewars itself tends to use strong primary colours.
It kinda felt washed out.

The odd thing is that Tron Legacy itself (the movie) used strong contrast. Deep blacks with glowing intense neon colours.

I used the colors of the movie, exactly, but of course the render is not the same without multi-level gradients for the glows. I used a limited set of colors, so it is impossible to have the look and feel of the movie... Or maybe it is, but I'm not really an artist or a graphic designer, I did this with my poor skills.

PS : on my screen the colors are vivid...
