Unfortunately no, at least not until .16 comes out
You should try to sort out your macappstore issues directly with apple support, but i can suggest trying to delete any previous copies of hw before downloading a new one.
Are you experiencing similar problems with other apps as well?

I was thinking that it was related to the fact that I have previous versions. I deleted them but it still didn't work. Oh well, guess I'll have to talk to apple.

If they can't fix it for you, you can try the universal build of 0.9.16 that is published in the download page; it is compatible with all osx version starting from tiger
