I dont think so. The Space Invasion gameplay for me is perfect. Shooting barrels is a very good idea, very difficult in the beggining, but when you catch the "balistic" of it, you´ll get really addicted to this reaaly fun mode.

And i think the creators should invest more time devlopting it.

There should be more weapons... like the fire in Tumblr, maybe fast shooting rockets, maybe a "special" one that destroy all enemies in screen, maybe a cluster bomb for multiple shots....

There should be more enemies too, maybe some smaller but faster, maybe some more rare that can be more dangerous and more valuable... i dont know.... but it reaaly should

Just suggestions, you creators can think further, but i guess this mode is too good to not be increased for the next release...

Aghh

In a mode where the whole point is dodging enemy projectiles, I don't think point-to-point lasers would work very well. As for the aiming: that just takes practice. It's rare to see an experienced player of the mode actually miss a shot.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad you've enjoyed Space Invasion thus far.

When I was designing Space Invasion I did indeed think about implementing even more weapons/invaders but in the end I didn't want to make the mode TOO complicated / overwhelming for a first-time player. One of the other Hedgewars developers actually suggested at the time that 4 invaders was too many, and that perhaps the mode would be better with just red/green invaders and no shield/radar. :P

That said, now that player's have had a chance to "learn to play" as it were, I may consider adding some new features (or a more advanced version) of the mode some time in the future. At the very least, I'll add some gameplay balances, a few tweaks to the radar, and a few more achievements.

One thing I don't like about space invaders is the design of the 'vaders. Maybe in the next release we could see invaders that look less misty/nonreal/not-solid. I think the problem is with the gradients, and how they can fly through walls, which makes them look superficial.

Specially the playability, it really surprised me how tricy this can be!!

Oh... Nice to know that new features will be add....

More achievements is good. I keep thinking that some movements, like deflecting rockets or avoiding collisions with invasors should be achievements. Safe landing after the end of course would be nice (it feels good when you do... ). Maybe touching the water, a fun achievement hehe, is nice too too... but then, it is me just wondering... =)

Thanks, it was a nice idea you had! Smile Shield Miser should be a bit more valuable now, too. I still want to add other stuff, but didn't have much time to work on it this release.
