Android update
Dear all,
It's been a while since I've posted anything regarding the Android port. (This is because of some lame excuses of me being busy :) )
Progress is being made though.. For example you can use the touchscreen to move around a bit control hogs and even fire some weapons. I've also uploaded Hedgeroid to the Android Market. So it's for all of you android users available to download!
I actually uploaded a version to the market a month ago, but because of a mistake I made I had to pull that one from the market and re-upload. Meaning those of you who still have the 'old' version installed will have to download the new one.
As I am writing this post it's been 20 mins since I uploaded the app that's why the 'search-servers' haven't yet caught on to the app, however you can download it here:
https://market.android.com/details?id=org.hedgewars.hedgeroid
So yes, it's still very far from being done and we could definitly use your help; if interested let me know :)
tl;dr
New Android version on the market re-download it from the above link and remove the old one

What are you needing?

I start it, and it wants to download 64MB of data - and then it freezes when it hits around 11%, and it's reproducable. Well, I have a cheap Chinese Android bought from DealExtreme, so not everything works as it should
What is the download URL for the data? Why is Data/Graphics on the android so much bigger than the same directory in the source tarball?

Same for me here. Using a Huawei Ideos U8150 (aka. T-Mobile Comet). Not a very powerful phone at all.
For me it crashes at a seemingly random point during the download, usually causing the phone to reboot. Is there somewhere I can download the files then transfer them to my phone?

Hello,
java/android developers and people who can create a user interface (a)

I'm guessing this is because you run out of ram but you'd have to have very little and I fear for the performance of Hedgewars... on those devices but if you want to try it anyways
download: http://code.google.com/p/hedgewars/downloads/detail?name=data_5631.zip&can=2&q=
and unzip it to this directory: Android/data/org.hedgewars.hedgeroid/cache

I'm using a mod on my Android and now lots of apps on the market can't be downloaded because my Android version "is not compatible" with them. Hedgewars is one of them.
So, is it possible for anyone to upload the .apk for me?

Gimo, your best bet would be to ask Xeli...
The build instructions aren't horribly hard to follow though.

You can download the version here for now:
www.xelification.com/tmp/Hedgeroid-4.apk (just click on this link from your android device)
I curious what kind of device / custom rom you have though..

Thanks, Xeli. My phone is an (obsolete) ZTE Racer. I installed a CyanogenMod to upgrade the Android to 2.3.

No luck with downloading the zip ... hedgewars on the phone still wants to start downloading when I press "start game". I've done my best to verify that the files are placed in the right directories and correctly copied over ... maybe there is a status flag somewhere telling if the download has completed or not?
