Failed to install

I have Ubuntu 11.04 natty.
First i tried to install hedgewars via Ubuntu Software Center.
But it refused to start saying "invalid floating point operation" or kinda like that.
Then i tried to install it from sources. It was hard. And when i typed "$ hedgewars" it said "The program 'hedgewars' is currently not installed".
Finally i tried to install it by typing "sudo apt-get install" but it said "broken packages"
x(
I'm completely ruined. Please help.

have you tried downloading it on torrent?

I'm not too sure what you did to your setup, but if you can get it back to the first error, probably you just have a bad sound config. Did you try changing your sound setup at any point? Like, removing pulseaudio?
For test purposes (assuming you can undo whatever the heck you did - maybe irc://irc.freenode.net/ubuntu can help with the broken packages)
try copying http://m8y.org/hw/hedgewars.ini to ~/.hedgewars
That should disable sound. If things work at that point, that confirms the source of the problem.

What's your install directory? The binary you want should be in $INSTALL_DIR/bin/
