Clapperboard. Add a bit of an angle to it? They are flat, but still.

Needs stuff to spice it up. Maybe the palm trees of hollywood, studio logos like the universal studio globe, perhaps stuff from famous films of the past.

Nice to see you're still working on new themes.

The film reels don't look very good, and the landtex is a bit plain. But it's a good start.

One thing I really hate is the blurry backgrounds that have become so common in hedgewars themes, I for one think it looks awful. Nemo thinks otherwise though, and he doesn't really value my opinion... but you could at least show us what it would like without the blurring. Smile

-Hello, good theme. My oppinion is about the Land, it's flat and plain. Also the tripod high and the girder is not attached to the wall.
-
I try to play it but the Theme folder doesn't has the theme.cfg :P (Maybe it's a problem with Linux or it's just my problem)

Good luck with the future work.

Blurry background is way too blurry, otherwise nice. (keep it blurred, but lower the current blurryness)

How about you make it nighttime in the theme and put search lights in the background?

Thanks for your inspirations so far! I'll work on the theme.

That's weird. I put the theme.cfg in the rar-archive linked in my first post. Just unpack all files in the archive. There shouldn't be any problems...

I also thought about that. But in my opinion we already have so many dark themes. So I wanted to create a bright and sunny theme.

Could be an issue of case sensitivity? Unfortunately I can't check easily from here since megaupload requires javascript (and cookies).

Nice idea for a theme. It has a very light and open feel to it. You might want to slightly tone down the number of spray objects, though.

As far as I see, everything is written in the same way. Did anyone else had a problem with the theme.cfg?

By the way, here's a new screenshot. You can see a new landtexture, clapperboard with angle, two new objects (palm tree & road sign) and a new background. The Background isn't done yet, I'm still working on it.

Better, keep working on it!

I see the background blurriness has been reduced, it looks better now. However, the palm tree looks to be right at the forefront as if it were part of the landtex. I think you should make it look smaller and more distant (without blurring it, just darken it). It also looks like it's made of lego, so that's another reason to change it.

The landtex is much more detailed, if a little generic. You still have too many spray objects imo, you might want to tone them down as mikade suggested. I don't think they look that great either, I tend to think spray objects should be more subtle. From the thumbnail they look like starfish.

I haven't actually tried the theme yet, is the link in the first post up to date?

The palm trees ARE part of the foreground. They're are land objects. But you're right, they don't look good enough so far. I'll work on that. Wink Smiley

Hm, I like that stars and I want to keep them as spray objects. But maybe I'll find something to let them look better.

There's an update link in the first post. Or try this link: http://rofra-games.de/HW/Hoggywood.rar

Ok. I opened that file.
The following standard files have incorrect casing:
Border.png
LandTex.png
Sky.png

That incorrect casing would indeed be why the theme failed to load on systems where files are case sensitive.

Also, SignL.png and SignR.png aren't consistent with the signL.png and signR.png objects referred to in theme.cfg.

Ah. Nice catch. I hadn't checked the theme.cfg
