Upgrade old version format demos (.hwd)

Can I convert my old hwd (.39.hwd or older) files to actual version (.41.hwd)?

Maybe exist external tool to convert file format... If not, then it is time to do it

If sheepluva says it's not possible then it's not possible.
It has nothing to do with file format. The issue is that saves and demos just record actions, and how the engine interprets those actions changes every release. New release, new engine, totally different demo playback.

I don't think you can do that either, as the demo files are not video files :p. However you can record them using screen capture software.
