Rogue Bots and Gameplay Suggestion
I have a few suggestions:
Rogue Bots - Rogue Bots are A.I. Hedgehogs that fight for no side and are only in the match to be a jerk and to make things harder. Their presence does not stop teams from winning.
Behavior: Rogue Bots focus on the stronger hedgehogs, attacking weak ones only if there are no others. They will often focus on the stronger team, and will use weaker attacks when both teams are weak.
Spawn: There can be a set amount per map (Anywhere from zero to 16), you can have one spawn every few turns, or have one spawn in the place of fallen hedgehogs.
Health: By default their health is 50, but this can be tweaked.
Name: There team name is "Rogue Hedgehogs" and there names are randomly generated from a special file.
Hats: They wear cyborg hats.
Also, I have a gameplay suggestion:
Timed Match: Like a normal match, but hedgehogs respawn instantly upon death, giving a point to the other team. You play until time runs out.
Timed match could be implemented as a lua script pretty easily.

Also another random suggestion:
Un nerf the sniper rifle. It's really weak and it's very hard to pull off a long shot with it, and it hardly ever gets used except for in random weapon script when there's nothing else you can use. Maybe have it have a base damage of 20 or something, or perhaps more make the damage increase more over range.
I agree completely, in my 3 years of playing Hedgewars I have literally only seen the sniper rifle used around a dozen times outside of random weapons and highlander matches. I think a base damage of 25-35 would make it somewhat more relevant to most battles. There simply is no reason to use it when 3/4ths of the weapons will outdamage it unless you and target are at opposing ends of the map, in which case the target will be invariably in cover anyhow. The only real use it has is ending sudden death matches when an opponent is poised above water on a tiny chunk of land.

While it's true not all Hedgewars weapons are born equal, I would argue Sniper Rifle is really powerful, and infinitely more useful than a lot of other weapons. Once upon a time I would have agreed with both of you, but I am pretty sure Sniper Rifle has been buffed at least twice since 0.9.13 (my earliest experience of the game) and is now pretty dang dangerous.
At intermediate range it is pretty easy to do 50+ damage across two shots. At extreme range you can do 75+ damage per shot. For a weapon you can use straight off the bat in default set, and that can hit multiple hogs AND go straight through limited cover (i.e girders) that is meeeaaaaan.

No... I just saw someone shoot across practically an entire medium map and it only did 33 damage. It's far too weak.
… it isn't intended for medium maps, Star. Its original purpose was *always* to be a long range weapon to reward large map sniping.
And. I just tried on a medium map. Got 30dmg each shot.
30*2 = 60 damage which is ridiculously high. Esp given it can go through walls.
