well, SDL is just sending us keycodes. My guess is when you press volume down on that laptop, it sends... well. no idea, but it includes what looks like a 'c' ?

You can try remapping the screenshot key, to see if that helps.
Or change volume differently

If you can send xev output from pressing that key, that could be helpful...
