Would Youtube be OK?

uh YouTube? I am not sure what you mean,depends on the vid.

Im not that sure but it depends on what licences under the upload-er has released the music under, some give a link to download (Itunes, or a direct download link .etc)
Some are "marked" with something like this: http://www.youtube.com/yt/copyright/creative-commons.html (I really havent seen this been used widely yet)

Now im not sure using a "video down-loader", "video to mp3" ,etc. is legal in the first place.
Youtube doesn't like it. Maybe there is a way to get-by for "home use", but i don't know about using it for a project like hedegwars. So you cant legally "copy" a video's sound, well its nice if the upload-er provides a link to download for free or such.

(This is just what I noticed, I may be wrong.)
