New Hedgewars Mode
Hello hedgewarriors!
I had an idea for a new mode and I would like some feedback from you
About the mode. Every team has 5 hedgehogs. Each hedgehog has a different primary weapon (shyryuken, desert eagle, bazooka, grenade and dynamite) and it's named out of it.
Each turn each hedgehog has a random secondary utility (rope, land gun, flying saucer, girder, parachute or invulnerable). Also, every hedgehog can skip his turn.
So, a player wins if he manages to collect 16 points. To earn points a hedgehog has to eliminate an enemy hedgehog except the one with the same name/primary weapon. A hedgehog may lose points if he hits or kill allies. A team cannot have score less than -8.
The points that a team earns depends on the primary weapon that the current hedgehog has.
Points:
Shyryuken = 5 points
Desert Eagle = 4 points
Bazooka = 3 points
Grenade = 2 points
Dynamite = 1 point
Example: Lets say we have 2 teams, a blue and a red. If blue shyryuken hits and kills red Grenade then blue team gets 5 points.
Examples where hedgehog hits ally:
If blue shyryuken hits and doesn't kill blue Grenade then blue team will lose 1 point (if blue team's score is greater than -8).
If blue shyryuken hits and kills blue Grenade the blue team will lose two times shyryuken points (2*5=10 points).
If blue desert eagle hits once the blue Grenade then blue team loses 1 point. If then in the same turn blue desert eagle kills blue Grenade, then blue team will lose 2*4=8 - 1 = 7 points.
This means one team cannot lose points from a hedgehog both hitting and killing an ally in the same turn.
That's all I think. So, I would like to ask you how do you find this mode's idea?
Do you find it interesting? Is it tooooo complicated? Other suggestions?
Also propose me a cool name!
As I have imagined it, it is a mode where a player has to kill enemies and also be careful not to wound or kill his hogs in order to win.
As far as I have played/tested it I am afraid that a game may lasts longer than it should in case players kill or hit their hedgehogs frequently. Anyway, I would be very happy if you try it and give me some feedback xD
In order to play it in hedgewars 0.9.19 see here https://gist.github.com/MasterEx/7536110
In order to play it in hedgewars 0.9.20 (dev) see here https://gist.github.com/MasterEx/7536149
Thank you!
UPDATE1: nemo has added the script to DLC. You can download and play it in hedgewars 0.9.19 from there
Hey. Pack it up as an hwp and I'll toss it on DLC so people can try it more easily.

Hey nemo, here it is for hedgewars 0.9.19.
Thanks
Sounds like fun.. Working on a title

Cool, always good to see someone working on new modes.
It does sound a little complicated, (not sure if preventing killing the hog with the same weapon pair improves or hinders gameplay) but anything new is complicated at first, I suppose. Keep it up!
Another thing that Hedgewars lacks (and that could be easier than creating novel, fun, balanced gameplay modes) is more interesting/fun multiplayer missions! Now that you have all that campaign experience you might want to try your hand at creating one or two of those, too.

You can kill him but you gain no points. And yeah, I haven't mention that hogs get resurrected! Otherwise getting 16 points could be impossible. So, killing a hog with the same name could be a bad move if you can kill a hog that will give you points and maybe a good move if you may protect your allies.
Anyway, I guess the only way for this mode to get better shaped is after people playing it. I too have some thoughts about things that could change in the rules but I'll just wait for the feedback
Noted! I have some ideas for other hw things too, I just wish I had more time
Anyway, I guess better being slow than still
I've noticed there isen't a mode called 'Arena' but maybe that's not a good name for this type of mode.
Confucius says: "Man who run in front of car get tired, but man who run behind car, get exhausted."
Hey bowja, thanks for the name suggestion but I also think that it is not fitting for this mode.
Anyway, I have uploaded to YouTube a demo match in case one wants to check the mode out but doesn't feel like playing it. It is boring to watch the full video but you can get the idea behind the mode I hope
Here it is
