Guys... nevermind... I don't think I will be making anymore content for Hedgewars anymore Sad Smiley
I have to make other projects, of which a lot of people count on me for them and I can't really tell anything about it here.

Guys... I am very sorry...

It was a blast having you together.
It was fun while it lasted.
You were the one that got me into modding.

Thank you. Goodbye Sad Smiley

Be careful about the hard pixelly edges I noticed on some of your content. Hedgewars uses very smooth edges so it kind of clashes and looks bad.

I like the idea of using the islands as forts, nice!

I promoted Peaceful Night to DLC because you came by the dev channel requesting review of your work, something people typically do when they are trying to get it to be added.
There were many problems with the content, but I thought to be encouraging by taking one of the pieces and promoting it. Something I'd mentioned to you in chat that day. Reviewing and fixing content, then posting it is a hassle, and I don't have a huge amount of time for stuff like this, but I figured it is good to encourage people wanting to contribute.

The quality was not to game standards, but that's one of the main things DLC is for, to offer a web page for people to access content that has undergone review but is not appropriate for inclusion. It's pretty much their content, but reviewed. And is just another page on this website. Specifically http://hedgewars.org/content.html - the content was credited BTW, although I'd also recommended to you that day that you add credit files to the zips.
I assure you, after all the resulting drama (for content you've been busy publicising and linking on this very site!), that there is no danger of that ever being repeated, for any of your content in the future...

This seems to also be a good opportunity to note to those visiting the forums that Hedgewars devs have not reviewed or vetted any content users post on the forums, such as the content in this forum post, and you install it very much at your own risk. Hopefully you will review it yourself and ensure it is safe and appropriate, but in general that's not something we recommend people do.

The only safe and reviewed content is that accessible off of the DLC page, in-game.

Im sorry, but due to my request, sheepluva deleted the entry, because i dont want to have my (exclusive) mixes of Peaceful Night song leaked outside of my control. On top of that, that theme doesn't fit the graphic guidelines and i dont want to players ashaming me, KarBoy2314PL, autor of this theme. Also i got angry, raging at entire IRC channel, but everything is now sorted out. You can ask nexia for that.

On top of everything of that, you haven't asked nor notified me via PM that you have did such a thing, just so ill know. Ive read this message at the date of posting this.

With that said, watch out next time. Thank you for understanding.

I hope that was clear from the prior post...

And, yes, I certainly noticed your behaviour in IRC.

Here I quote from a PM KarBoyPL2314 sent to me:

Quote:
You have been warned!

You have inserted 3 of my flags, olympics, barcode and unknown into your package, FlagThreadCollection_v2 without notifying me! On top of that, you have changed name of unknown flag!

HOW DARE YOU?!

Now, read the Holy License in my creations thread. NOW!

You warned me … of what? Are you threatening me?

You seem to feel very strongly about this, and I feel sorry if I have hurt your feelings.
However, this was not my intention.

I want to make some things clear first:

First of all, I included the stuff before your Holy License appeared in this thread.
Frankly, your condition of notifiying you for every publication is pretty surprising.

It seems to me that you want to imply that I am somehow not “respecting” you. If this is the case, this was not my intention.

And actually, I just re-packaged the stuff for nemo to look through more easily. It was never meant as *my* package or even an actual release aimed towards players. Therefore, I just posted it in the news comments, and not in the Content Creations thread.
I might as well have sent this message to nemo directly.

Also, your claim that renaming stuff causes name clashes is not neccessarily true. You only cause a name clash if you use a name that has been used by another file already. I have made sure this is not the case. Renaming files is more likely to cause a bit redundancy.
And I find it surprising that you oppose to change file names. I don't consider the file names to be part of the file's contents because those are just used internally by Hedgewars. Sadly, Hedgewars has no clear distinction between the “actual” (human-readable) name of something and the file name.

Anyways, your Holy License is incompatible with Hedgewars, nothing of your stuff can be included in Hedgewars under these conditions. The reason is because remixes are explicitly forbidden. The exception of “explicit permission” is not strong enough. Also, the requirement to notify you for every publication is unfair and highly impractical if this stuff is going into Hedgewars. That would mean that everyone who provides a download of Hedgewars would need to contact you.

Let me ask a question: Why are you so angry about all this? What can you possibly gain from pointing the finger to people like this and imply how “evil” they are? Seriously, calm down please. It is not the end of the world.
We all are here in this forum to share our work concerning Hedgewars. There is a reason why most people here share their work freely. If everyone would scream “That's MINE! And you have to obey my conditions. Or else!”, we would not going anywhere and it would create a pretty unfriendly and toxic atmosphere. Luckily, most people here are not like this.

So please, ease up, it's not the end of the world.

Hey KarBoy2314PL,

I just read your "Holy License" (First license I've ever read that includes insults...).

Is that license also supposed to apply to your Match Making Pack?

If so, please do not distribute any content that you took from Hedgewars within that pack (Hedgewars Logo, Hedgehogs, Landtextures, Landobjects: Bones, Mouse, Swords, Map dumps, etc.), as your license clashes with the license under which you received that material (GNU GPL/FDL).

You could of course create a separate pack for that stuff and release it under a compatible license.

It should, but technically it doesn't. I would have to delete that thread either way on the recreation, because i will be using imgur albums for preview.

Im gonna have to change that entirely, but either way thx for warning me.

EDIT1: right off the bat, sry for doublepost :/ i hate it. Im chaning to combined GPL v3 and CC BY 3.0. Not quite sure if that fits good enough for you, developers.

Copying is not theft.

You can't even truthfully claim that I did not credit you. Because I did credit you.

No, you didnt credited me in the package.

Please make a credits.txt file somehow noticable containing the following:

code allegedly wrote:
flags 'cm_barcode', 'cm_olympics' and 'cm_question_mark2' are by KarBoy2314PL, check his content out here: http://hedgewars.org/node/6040/

Also, you should rename question_mark2 flag, because it will cause name clutches once i will be making the Recreation.

And you've removed the versioning. How dare you.

EDIT1: Why there are PAotH flags in there?!

Jeez, what is wrong with you?
Nowhere did you state that I have to supply a credits.txt file or that I have to credit you in the package. I mentioned you name in the comment you wrote.

And for the second time, this comment was directed to nemo. Nemo explicitly requested me to clean up stuff and package it in an usable form. This includes renaming files. The version numbers should not appear in the actual Hedgewars release, so I removed them. This package was NOT meant as a public release, and nemo probably now knows very well that these flags are made by you.

Anyways, this stuff is starting to become really annoying for me, so I just removed the flags from the package.

If you want to see your stuff in Hedgewars, please approach nemo by yourselves.

And I don't know what you mean with PAtoH flags. Maybe you mean the HWP from the DLC? Well, I guess this HWP is also just a collection of stuff from the various threads (similar to what I did), so there are probably some duplicates. The point of my packages is that I want them to become an actual part of Hedgewars, not just as an add-on.
But the duplicates should be no problem, if those flags become a regular part of Hedgewars, the PAotH pack just needs to be updated to remove the redundant files.
Even if this does not happen, there won't probably be any difference.

Man, you have made so much stuff! It certainly takes time to go through all this.
I have finally taken my time to look through this stuff, and I am still not finished with it.

Stuff I like:

Hats: karboy_barrelhider3, karboy_birthday, hair_brown, hair_black, hair_teal
Flags: I like most of them, your national and pseudo-national flags are the best IMO. I don't like the fake flags because I don't see a need for those. I have included the flags here: https://www.hedgewars.org/node/6443
Graves: karboy_Undead3, karboy_mygrave, karboy_mygrave2, karboy_Trophy_Gold, karboy_Trophy_Bronze, karboy_Fruit_Watermelon, karboy_Cake_Cupcake, kayboy_Christmas_Ball

Stuff which is OK:
Graves: karboy_MonitorFAIL_Anim2, kayboy_Monitor_BSoD2

I don't like most graves and hats since most of them look like they are just poor remakes of theme images. Nothing against using images from themes, but IMO the images should still look more or less OK as an actual grave. What's important to me are clear contours and a more or less good alignment to the bottom. An absolute no-go for me are fake graves, graves which are hardly visible or very distracting (like the glich graves). It seems your grave collection is mostly an experimental one. Nothing against experiments but I don't think those graves are good for actual gameplay. Maybe a few of the theme graves actually work out nicely in gameplay but I am too lazy to test.
Still, I like a few of the graves. I like those barcode graves, they are unique and fun. The fail monitor is fun, too, but I would like to see a more “hedgewarsy” version.
TIP: The first frame of the grave image will be the preview in the team editor. So it would be better to move the frames so that the first frame shows “FAIL” so the preview is more helpful.

I am not really intestested in most hats since many of those seem to be simple combinations of existing hats. But I do like karboy_barrelhider3, this is a great creation. I also like karboy_birthday but I noticed it is a combination of a recolored Wizardhat and another hat. But it is well done. And the hairs are simple but good additions (especially brown and black are obvious omissions from the standard).

As for the scripts, maps, themes, etc.: I haven't tested most of these. It is not really funny to download every single file from your Google Drive. Is there some way to download an entire folder? Because I haven't found any.
I would *really* appreciate if you could package the maps, forts, missions, etc. in HWP files, this would make life much easier.
It looks like the Mediafire files are just historic files, so this is of no use for me.

Finally, I am glad to see you have turned to the lighter side (aka CC-BY 3.0). Smile

Graves and hats, I am not surprised by your opinion, most of the stuff is rushed.

Fake graves are THE bait of all of them, have you saw Luelle's Fake theme? That with those graves are perfect distraction weapon Big Grin

Regarding majority of hats, if there would be hat-layering and team-coloring hats on go, most of them would be gone.

Barrel Hider and Birthday are made with Hedgewars assets, as well as some stuff from DLC hats. The hat of Birthday is color-inverted Wizard Hat.

When you are logged in Google, head over to that link, on top right corner there should be a red button labeled "Add to Drive" or something like that. Once you done that, select the stuff you want to download. Then, top right corner, there should be horizontal 3 dots, click that and there should be download.

Posting every theme, map and script would take a lot of time (writing, providing downloads, etc.) and at the same time may spam the thread, so I'm not sure about this move.
