[Theme] GIRDERZZZ!!!

Ever dreamed of a world made of girders? No? Well, it came anyways. One of most creative themes here: everything is GIRDERZZZ!!!

Terrain is girders, clouds is girders, water is girders, sky is girders, even the mudball is girder (it's hilarious). So what's so unique about this theme (aside from girderness)? STRUCTURES! I realized that if we can look shape of girder tool, why can't we change shape? Yep, it works. Instead of boring bars, you can make whole structures at once. And for people who still want to build on their own, there's a square girder tile (requires many tools of course).

But that alone would be too boring. So theme objects are various structures made of girders. It's also one of very few (if not only) themes, that uses objects masks. Some buildings are indestructible, some are bounce and some are super-slippery! Theme is complete, with SD graphics and all.

It's not one of my "official" themes, I made it for fun Big Grin

yea, this theme is too silly for me. I would like to see rubber bands, if you can include them somehow.

EDIT1: It appears that land object 'Tower' doesnt have a mask. Not quite sure why, because the rest of them have it.

I tried to make colorful hedgehogs by making a hat directly from idle.png and recoloring it. But it turned out that hats don't cover whole hedgehog so it didn't work that well Sad Smiley

You mean rubber bands as objects? Green girders work like them.

Not all objects in theme have masks, I made them only for objects with colored girders, because they have special properties.

Kobewei, I played around w/ tinting, although I turned it off for now since I didn't have time/energy to fix all the standard hog sprites and animations.

You mean just recoloring the sprites? (that's what needs to be done for tinting... I think. I can't seem to see images on Google Code)

Recolouring and adding a masking layer that is being used to preserve the white of eyes and other highlights.

Use "View Raw File" on Idle.png in the first revision.

I have an XCF that I used to split it up that highlights how it works w/ multiply divide layers.

Essentially I identified stuff I didn't want to change (eyes, outside of spikes), then for the rest, identified the greatest amount of shared colour so that they could be washed out as much as possible while still allowing "natural" tinting. That division should be preserved elsewhere and is a layer in the XCF. It would be more convenient to discuss in chat, but that's pretty much it...

It's not feature I care too much (if at all) and I'd rather have my theme suggestions done, but...

Possibly. Is easier to tell in GIMP w/ an overlay.
Best test, of course, is trying it in-game. Can be done by jumping back to that first revision.

Updated!
I took advantage of new feature in Hedgewars and fixed some structures. They should appear much more often now.

Also, as I said in the first post, I'm taking ideas for new structures. If you have an idea for something interesting/silly to appear here, post so and I'll try to add it if I find it ok.
