Calligraphyc glyphs on bamboo paper. Torii and monks. Hand fans and red lanterns. Probably it is the morning sky which you see through screen panels on the background.

P.S. I can't read depicted glyphs, so their meaning is purely abstract for me with no intent. My excuses if I had intermixed Chinese and Japanese.

Haha, interesting idea. Perhaps I could try override sprays on other themes in my local data so that I can practice kanji while I play Hedgewars. Not all of them are discrete words, but the ones in your screenshot basically mean power(力), bright(明), and life(命).

The more you know. :P
