Hi there

A friend of mine thought about implementing Zombie-Hedgehogs...
I thought a little bit about that idea and one way to do it is to have a special item which gives one player the ability to resurrect one of its already dead hedgehogs.

Maybe these hedgehogs look different, look like Zombie... Maybe the have some sort of special ability or weakness in any kind...

This "weapon" should come in box only and not be listed in the weaponmenu and in my opinion it should be distributed with care, so that this doesn't get dropped too often.

This could save ones life and therefore this may change the game flow in any given moment. For example if one player is in a bad state, he can resurrect a drown hedgehog and would win the game.
So everything rests open until the end of the game.

What do you think about the general idea to be able to resurrect dead hedgehogs?
What kind of special feature or weakness resurrected hedgehogs should have?

Best regards from Switzerland

It could work like in Worms: Open Warfare 2 for the DS & PSP, the hedgehog would have to be dead & have a gravestone that way, so it wouldn't work for drowned ones.

I like the idea, thought about something similiar.

So, we need a grave stone, imo zombie should have 50-65 points of health(not more than 65, it's zombie, right?), should be a little slower, no other differences. It may have some zombie-only weapon x 1. This weapon may be exploding(so it's dead after using that zombie-only weapon) with poison(not with blood please) explosion, so when other hedgehogs touch te poison they are sick and they health goes down every turn by 5. Just my ideas.

Sounds good

If this is implemented, there are in my opinion two ways how to do it with the turns:

  • Hedgehog 0 from Team red (examples for clarity) resurrects Zombie 1. The turn ends for Hedgehog 0, Zombie 1 may now make its turn. After this, a hedgehog from the other team does its turn
  • Hedgehog 0 from Team red activates the resurrection for Zombie 1. Hedgehog 0 makes then its turn, whatever it may be. As soon as Hedgehog 0 finishs its turn, other teams do their turns. As soon as Team red has its next turn, the zombie is resurrected and may do his turn. We may think about it if another hedgehog of Team red may do a turn or if another team should be next...

alzen: Your zombie-only weapon is a bit like Kamikaze, right? There could be a weapon "Vampire touch" which sucks the life out of the attacked hedgehog and distributes the gained hp to all the other hedgehogs of the same team... Would be another idea... I think a zombie should have its strengths, too. Otherwise it's not worth the pain. But it should not be too strong either. Its important to find the right balance here...

Just my ideas...

I prefer the second way.

I like the idea but I like zombie-kamikaze-like weapon too. It may be another zombie only weapon. But I'm just afraid that there will be another and another... too much of zombie-only weapons. But I like the idea Smile.

How about when you resurrect a hedgehog you point the zombie in a direction and that's set it off, then you lose control, every round the zombie moves x amount of spaces and when it encounters a hedgehog it kills it regardless of whose it is and then dies. It should of course say brains, brains every time it moves and it should move slowly. It should also be an unstoppable force and just walk through obstacles (Blowtorch style) but up hills so it doesn't just move horizontal and since we can't have head shots it should be only killable with a bullet but only 1 bullet needed and have no health.

I'm not decided whether it should drown when it hits water or just keep going and emerge on the other piece of land.

As in my idea the zombie is the weapon itself it should not count as a man on your team.

My version would be more useful to the team with the least players left alive, and it should be available after a certain amount of rounds in the standard weapon set but only one per team and never dropped in crates.

I like Tutu's idea better, but i think it would be funnier if it had an apocalypse accent: instead of dying, zombies should convert other hedgehogs into zombies if they manage to touch them (eat their brains? :lolSmile. Zombies keep spreading until they die or a team wins the game.
That way it adds a new goal: not only you have to kill every other hedgehog team, but also survive the apocalypse. To add a bit of realism, zombis should not climb nor walk through obstacles, so they could be avoided or contained... and you could make your enemies fall into a pit of zombies Wink Smiley They should move a little between every player turn.

Instead of a weapon it could be activated as a sudden death mode too: once sudden death is activated, a random grave spaws a zombie every x turns.

I like that. I think it can be realized by adding a new AI controlled team "zombies", so when all of the hedges are transformed into zombies, other team fail.

All of this sounds great to me! Big Grin
Maybe make it so that the Zombies just suddenly grow out of the floor every turn when sudden death mode activates, the gravestone stuff may be a bit too specific..? Smile
