[Scripts] Can Massive amount of Variables slow Hedgewars ?
Sat, 2017-05-27 05:13
Hello
Does anyone know this ?
About my question, can Massive amount of Variables slow Hedgewars ?
In form of tables
Since the capacity limit of tables (in Lua ofc) is seemingly infinite (actually, not infinity, but really huge)
So I want to add really huge amount of variables into my script
Well, it's BILLIONS and more xD
Thanks for responding, hope this won't effect anything ^^

I dunno why you'd need billions of variables. I think Hedgewars is still developed with 32 bit system in mind so that means all you have is 4 GiB.
On the other hand, when I set hedges to spawn with 500,000,000 hp and set damage to be multiplied by 1,000,000,000, Hedgewars consumed 12 GiB of RAM and I had to kill it from the tty.
My stuff
Oh
Maybe it's too large
Okay, I think Billion is too ridiculous to be involved with x)
Just too many, so I'll cancel with such things in billion, then I'll decrease it dramatically
btw, I have tried some Millions of table variables and had no effect, yet...
Well then, thanks for the information =D
I'll keep experimenting these stuff (until I crash it xD)
Have a nice day ^^ !!!
