Hotkeys for sound

I've been playing hedgewars on my windows machine and love it. So when I got my eee 901 I had to install the game on it 
I got the game with Arch linux packagemanager and started it up. Everything seems fine, I got sound and all on the menus, but when I start the game there is no sound, and when I try to use the hotkeys for sound all it says is "Volume 0%" no matter what 
Have anyone else experienced such behavior ?

Posted the debug info after one round there.
I only pressed the volume up bind but it seems to be sending volume down aswell.

that is the reason
Any ideas why the sound wont init when starting a round, but perfectly working before it?
Hmm... please, try to turn off music in frontend and see if it helps. Probably sound card is still busy by frontend when the game tries to initialize sound.

Same issue, Arch also. Will look at it a bit tonight when I'm home.
