A question about demos

Hey guys!
So I tried to watch a demo earlier ending in ".55.hwd", but discovered that I was unable to watch it. Even after putting it into my demo folder, deleting and redownloading it, and a few other things, I remained unsuccessful. My guess is that it has to do with the fact that I have Hedgewars 0.9.25, and it's an older version, but is anyone able to clarify?
Thanks

The number “55” is the so-called protocol number of Hedgewars 0.9.24. Here's a list: https://hedgewars.org/kb/ProtocolNumbers
This means the demo was recorded in Hedgewars 0.9.24.
Demos can only be played in the versions they have been recorded in. So since you're using 0.9.25, but the demo is from 0.9.24, you cannot watch it, sadly.
Hi, I am a Hedgewars developer.
Thanks for the clarification

BTW, we have a 7 year old project for running hedgewars in the browser, if someone was willing to fix and revive this, we could introduce a demo player on the website for all the demos people uploaded.
We'd also considered things like spectating in online games on website, and maybe eventually a full client.

Hmmm, that does sound interesting! I don't know much about coding, so I don't know how much help I would be with the 'fix and revive' part, but I would be down for helping in any way I could.
And actually, being able to spectate games while on the website sounds good, so new people could see what the game is like, and a unique feature like that would draw more people to the website anyway.
