Dang. The name is too long to log into the hedgewars interface game. Two characters short. Is it possible to get two more characters limit or do I need to request to change my username again? :s

I'm surprised we have any name length limits in the interface at all. Luckily for you we are preparing a new release..

Can you please share the exact text of the error message you get when trying to log in? A screenshot is good enough. Or just paste in the text here.

OK, we have now figured out the problem, we believe. The settings menu simply doesn't let you enter any user name that is longer than 20 characters. Althought the game server actually supports names of length 1-40.

This should be fixed. Sadly, there's no workaround for now.

Edit: OK, I have added a fix. We plan to release a release candidate really soon.

I'm so sorry for the inconvenience. But in our defense, Hedgewars is still officially unfinished. :P
In the meantime, you can always play as a guest online. Just enter any random user name without a password to play as guest.

Yeah I play as guest. I was not expecting a quick fix, just wondering if the limit was intentional(due to minecraft's and many other game's username limts).

You should be able to login in version 1.0.0 Release Candidate 1, which recently came out. I'll appreciate it if you could test this again.

Note that this is still a test release, and in online mode you can only play with players who use the same version (as usual).

We expect to release the “true” version 1.0.0 pretty soon.
