Places to post Hedgewars
Since Hedgewars is finally in 1.0.0, we should spread it more in the open so that it will be actually seen. The first step is to post it on all game-related websites.
This is a list of websites and places to post Hedgewars on. I might or might not keep this list up-to-date.
NO entry yet:

- https://www.indiedb.com/
NO entry, and we can't or shouldn't post there:
- https://wikipedia.org/ (Problem 1: we have an obvious conflict of interest. Problem 2: As long we're not “relevant” (i.e. mentioned by mainstream media), we can basically forget it anyway)
- https://store.steampowered.com/ (Problem 1: Valve is a horrible company. Problem 2: We need to pay an entry fee. Problem 3: Might not be worth the hassle, Steam is flooded with games and its hard to stand out)
Entry exists but might need update (version is not 1.0.0):

- https://videogamegeek.com/videogame/96253/hedgewars
- https://alternativeto.net/software/hedgewars/
- https://games.softpedia.com/get/Freeware-Games/Hedgewars.shtml
- https://directory.fsf.org/wiki/Hedgewars
- https://hedgewars.itch.io/hedgewars >>> This page contains download link but without version number. I recommend linking to the official downloads instead
- https://www.moddb.com/games/hedgewars >>> Very outdated
- https://libregamewiki.org/Hedgewars >>> Could be more detailed.
Review needs update / request re-review:
Review sites / news sites / blogs:
Other ways to make Hedgewars known:
- Submit HW to various blogs, reviewers, etc., when 1.0.0 is out
- Talk to YouTubers and other video creators to make a Let's Play
- Post HW in various forums
These lists are not exhaustive and pretty biased towards FOSS/Linux sites. Feel free to post more.
I also encourage all Hedgewars fans to help us out in spreading Hedgewars to make it more visible. I think Hedgewars is still living too much in the GNU/Linux bubble, I want to change that. I appreciate any help we get.
Hi, I am a Hedgewars developer.
It would be useful if the official website provided more content metadata than this:
I mean, some image.
It would allow for easier linking on Reddit and similar media.
Although I'm not sure how many websites provide such content, maybe it's not necessary.

Paste a suggested text block? I'm pretty sure I have rights to change that string.

Oh, what the heck. 1PLXzL1CBUD1kdEWqMrwNUfGrGiirV1WpH <= tip a hedgewars dev
Actually the first sentence from About would be ok: "Hedgewars is a turn based strategy, artillery, action and comedy game, featuring the antics of pink hedgehogs with attitude as they battle from the depths of hell to the depths of space."
It would be nice if the website provided also some image (e.g. Hedgewars logo). Although that doesn't seem popular outside websites with dynamic content (e.g. entries on YouTube or Google Play store).

Yeah, let's simply use this text block:
Logos and stuff are a good idea.
I could add a couple of logos and stuff into the Media page. But I would like website operators to please copy these images to their own website and NOT hotlink them.
As for screenshots, we already have plenty. Use them.
