Hi there! Short question to multiplayer games over internet. I created a room and invited 2 friends. When we play, after a couple of time, we have a latency of round about 5-10s. Everybody have to wait this amount of time to see the action of the user who is actually playing. I thinks this is a latency/lag problem? I noticed this problem in Worms Armageddon, too. So it's a Multiplayer Engine problem?

Probably a networking problem. The fact that the same delay happens in W:A is a strong clue as well.

If you have a decent connection, the delay should be way under 1 second.

So its not a common known problem? We talk via voice chat if we play. That's how we discovered the problem in the first place. E.g. it's my turn and I move and select a weapon, my both mates see the move and weapons selection a few seconds (sometimes it takes 5s) later!

I have the problem no matter if I use my internet connection or play in LAN mode. I think its a engine problem

oh that...
no. that's deliberate.
Wuzzy thought you were talking about the actual hang/lag.

The game simulations being out of sync is for hedgewars to be more forgiving latency-wise. The person driving the simulation stays ahead of the rest of you by a little bit. That makes things seem smoother even on poor connections.
You can get away with that in turn based, but yeah, it's noticeable in LAN situations. The workaround is to have everyone mute but one person.

I guess it might be nice to have an option to "only play sounds if you're the active player" - would be fairly trivial to drop in.
