Make RopeHook.png customizable in theme files

Hello I think making RopeHook.png customizable like rope node would make sense cause without it being customizable its rather useless editing rope node cause every rope would appear too much similar to the vanilla one. This feature would allow us to create more creative and cool ropes and it doesnt seem to me to be that much of a problem adding this feature.

To be honest, I'm not very happy with having the rope node being theme-specific either (other devs might disagree).
This stuff, if at all, should be treated independently from theme. Rope has nothing to do with land.

Besides, you can already overwrite pretty much all files in Data/Graphics and create a HWP for it to create custom rope graphics, weapon images, and whatnot. You don't need themes for that.

Thanks for replying, I hope other devs disagree with you then Big Grin cause I was hoping to make a spider web rope for my Pond theme.

I dont think that Themes concerns only the land, in my opinion themes affects the whole feeling of the round, visually and audibly and therefore the weapons should be affected by themes. After all the mudball is a weapon and it changes depending on the theme. Furthermore the rope node is already customizable so it seems like a job half done.

I dont see the problem in adding more customizablity, maybe only if this game was played competitevely officialy and the rope changes would affect the gameplay.

I dont like to overwrite vanilla graphic elements the way you suggested cause if I understood correctly I would be the only one to see the new sprites.

I gotta say, I'm sympathetic to restyling rope. I don't think it causes any major recognition issues in gameplay as opposed to, say, restyling a mine. It is ephemeral, it is obvious when you are using it, and if a theme restyles it badly it just doesn't get added.

At present we do restyle girders, mudball (which was a snowball wep for xmas long ago that needed sane cross theme support) as well as alfadur's rope thing.

I think the hook just got missed when alfadur was playing with this 'cause the existing hook looked fine with his chain rope Smile
