I think that will be great to make an autopatcher, that will update your game when there is an update. It will be a lot better than download the full game again at any new improvement.

I have 0.9.16 hedgewars on my machine.
I open the hedgewars game and the patcher check for new updates
If there is an new update, download only what is changed and replace/install what's needed.
If there isn't, open the game.
